‘Summerland’ is an female-led short horror film that aims to subvert expectations to the typical genre structure. Bailey was part of the original production team who received the green-light to produce this thesis project through Toronto Metropolitan University’s RTA practicum process, becoming the film’s creative director and 1st assistant director.
The story follows three college friends, Mia, Natalie, and Zoe, during a weekend trip to Mia’s family cottage. Spending time there causes the girls to realize what the future after college holds for their relationships, the rising conflicts making them susceptible to a pair of spirits who haunt the cottage grounds, seeking revenge and remedy for the errors of a well-kept family secret.
Through this process, Loch Pictures Production Company was born. After over a year of hard work, a successful Indiegogo campaign, and a stress-filled week of filming we entered our post-production stage. As of right now, ‘Summerland’ has finally completed its festival circuit and will be public shortly.
Updates on when/where ‘Summerland’ will be available to watch will be posted on our website and Instagram page.
